This award honors staff (part or full time) who through their efforts are making extraordinary differences this year at DSU or the community. Their work this year has had a significant impact, and inspires and encourages others.

Nominations for the award can be submitted by peers, administration, students, or faculty. There will be Outstanding Staff Member(s) of the Year and a Rising Star Staff Member(s) of the Year from each of the four areas of the University. Those staff members nominated will be notified, and asked for their consent to be formally considered for the award.
Recognition of the award winners will be made during the Staff Association Closing Social. Each recipient will receive a plaque and a monetary award. Nominators should keep in mind the judging criteria and write the nomination accordingly. When asked why a co-worker is deserving of the award, please elaborate on your response by giving specific examples of how this person is an exemplary DSU staff member and how they meet each of the criteria.
